The Actions are a London based alternative rock band influenced by trip hop, dark wave, and psychedelia. Their first demo led them to make inroads in the UK receiving a rousing reception at the historic Cavern Club in Liverpool for two years in a row and getting airplay on DJ Pete Tong‘s BBC Radio 1 show “The Essential Selection” with Planet Funk‘s remix of their song “The Real Thing”. The buzz around the band and their worldwide fan base are growing day by day thanks to their live activity and the good reviews from international press.
Their first album “Real” has been licensed to Nikita Music, a Brazilian record label based in Rio De Janeiro and released in all Latin America, and then released wordwide via a publishing deal with Warner Chappell (Italy). Recently the single “The Real Thing” has been chosen by MTV US and included in the movie “My Super Psycho Sweet 16″ O.S.T. airing in USA and worldwide on MTV channels. After that the band passed through a period of artistic collaborations and sound experimentations that led them to the conception of brand new material. The Actions’ singer Silty (Marta Argenio) was invited by Tricky to perform with him on stage at Melkweg in Amsterdam last year (“False Idols” tour 2013) after recording vocals on one of his unfinished tracks.
Right now The Actions are promoting their brand new “Indefensible EP” in London. The EP is not released officially but it’s grabbing interest already. “The Echo”, first track on the EP, is one of BBC Radio presenter, songwriter and broadcaster Tom Robinson‘s Fresh Faves on his freshonthenet.co.uk. Consequently on 28th of April 2014 The Actions have been introduced by Tom on BBC Radio 6 Music with their single “The Echo” in his “Introducing Mixtape” radio show.
